Fantastic Overall, Fantastic Product – Echo Lawn Edger Critique

Published on January 20, 2012 By Liam Scott

I bought an extra blade expecting to tear up at least one blade trying to get the hang of it. Not necessary, I can’t imagine damaging the thick metal blade, that doesn’t need sharpening. We did find that when doing this, since you’re pushing the thing over sod and such, it will lift the entire machine up a little bit. So I set it for 1 1/4″ depth and did the first run, and then repeated it at the recommended 1″ depth to clean up the little bits that were left. Worked like a charm. Someone already mentioned NOT using this when the ground is really wet.

I purchased this edge trimmer after my old one broke. I had been using a Ryobi string trimmer with the edger attachment.

Another Happy Customer – Lawn Mower Edger Review

Published on January 18, 2012 By Liam Scott

In theory, this is great. I, however, have very rocky soil and it’s difficult to get through when edging around my flower beds. This is a really great lawn edger. I had been looking for a replacement for my old edger that finally quit working. Be prepared however, the first time you use is will be the most difficult. After using it for the first time this past weekend, I found that the grass along the side of my driveway had grown over about 2 to 3 inches in most spots. The secondary handle and the adjustable edge guide are quite helpful. I never felt like this edger had taken control and gone where I didn’t want it to go. I would imagine this will wear on the blade quite a bit over time and bothers me but that is the only complaint I have. The power of the unit is good for an electric one in my opinion.

Shocked And Extremely Delighted – Mclane Lawn Edger Review

If you try and use it after watering your lawn or after a rain mud will clump inside the edger and clog it up. I have also found the first edge of the season, or the first time you use it if you haven’t ever edged your lawn, can be challenging for you and the edger.

Great Cost For What It Provides – Manual Lawn Edger Tool Review

The Edge Hog does everything your product description promised….and does such a good job! I am very pleased with it, all around. The cord is no problem, even on a 3/4 acre lot. This B&E is my first edger and I think it’s the best edger.

Love Their Items – Murray Lawn Edger Critique

I have a rather large corner lot, but I don’t consider it to be that big. The Edge Hog seemed to do O.K., but I had to buy a new blade each time I needed to edge the yard. I have Zoysia grass which has not been edged for over 15 years. The Boss Edger cut right through it (in some places had to make a couple of passes but nonetheless it cut right through it) and made a tough task easier than I expected. Will buy another when I wear this one out. Rated it 4 out of 5 stars because it doesn’t have the cutting power of a gas edger but it certainly is good enough for me. I am amazed how well this little machine can cut through the toughest overgrowth (6″) on my driveway. I had no problem handling it. I cut slots in the lawn within 1/2 inch of my radial wires (#14 insulated wires) and the Edge Hog didn’t even move them. Very accurate cutting and easy to see where you are going with it. I think this feature makes it superior to using a string trimmer turned on its side (it’s hard to make an exact and clean cut with a string trimmer). It’s got plenty of power for my yard and it edges about as fast as you can walk.

This Item Is Worthless – Homelite Lawn Edger Review

Published on January 15, 2012 By Liam Scott

This edger only cuts about 60% of the grass and the rest it pushes away! It makes the job harder to because it barely has enough power making you the operator put forth more work to get it through the grass. The product is very light weight and easy to manage. Blade cuts well and is easy to maneuver. After you remove the “sod,” you would normally use a blower or push broom to clean up what’s left. Then, you could consider a pressure washing of the sidewalk, as there will be dirt under the sod on the concrete.

Preparing Your Mower for Winter

Winterizing your lawn mower is a vital procedure often ignored by many people. It is very important that you’re taking as many precautions as you possibly can towards the end of the season to properly winterize your mower if you reside in a place where cold temperatures are a major issue.
