Thus the eye of the of the viewer will be directed to the entrance to the home through the progression of decreasing sizes in the foliage headed towards the entrances.
Should one have space for a larger garden then there is an opportunity to either create a showplace, one that is a bit more relaxed, or something in between. Thus for example if one needs a more formal look then straight lines are called for as it gives the garden a more uptight look. Rounded shrubbery and other shapes allows for a more restful appearance.
Landscape design then is something that will allow one to make a plan for a garden, yard, or acreage that will give it the look that is desired. This includes the inclusion of shrubbery, trees, flowering bushes, and non-living matter in a way that will be aesthetically pleasing.
